  Dementia is a progressive decline in memory, reasoning, and cognitive function that affects millions of individuals worldwide. The most common form of dementia is Alzheimer's disease, but other types, such as vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia, and Lewy body dementia, also contribute to cognitive decline.
